Car Wrap FAQ's: Know What You're Buying

Asking questions allows you to understand the entire process of PPF application, including preparation, installation, curing time, and maintenance. This understanding helps you know what to expect and ensures there are no surprises during or after the process. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions.

What Exactly is Car Wrapping ?

Car wrapping, also known as vehicle wrapping or vinyl wrapping, is the process of applying a vinyl film or wrap to the exterior of a vehicle. This vinyl film can come in various colors, finishes (such as matte, gloss, satin), and even textures (like carbon fiber or brushed metal). Car wrapping is often used as an alternative to traditional paint jobs for several reasons. The wrap is applied directly over the vehicle's paint and adheres to the surface without causing damage.

Should I Wrap My Car or Just Repaint it?

If you desire flexibility, customization options, protection, and cost-effectiveness, wrapping your car in PPF film should be the preferred choice. Ultimately, it's essential to consider factors such as budget, desired appearance, and intended use of the vehicle before making a decision. Wrapping a car can be more cost-effective than a high-quality paint job, especially for complex designs or color changes. It also requires less time for application compared to painting.

How Long Will My Car PPF Wrap Last?

Anywhere from 10-12 years depending on how well you maintain it. The best way to maintain PPF is to hand wash your car and properly dry your car. Generally, a high-quality PPF wrap installed by a professional can last 10 years or even longer with proper care. Regular maintenance, including washing the car with a mild detergent and soft cloth, can help preserve the appearance and effectiveness of the PPF wrap. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or brushes that could damage the film

Will the PPF Wrap Damage the Original Paint?

No. As long as the paint is original it will never damage the paint. In fact, one of the primary purposes of PPF is to protect the underlying paint from damage caused by road debris, scratches, chips, and other environmental factors. High-quality PPF films are designed to be compatible with various types of automotive paint finishes, including clear coats, metallic paints, and custom finishes. They do not react chemically with the paint or cause any discoloration or degradation over time.

How Long Does It Take to Wrap a Car in PPF Film?

It will take us no longer than 2-3 days to fully wrap your car in PPF film. First we wash the car, clean up the paint, and polish if needed. The wrapping process can begin after these steps are completed. Then using established PPF curing methods, we seal =the edges to ensure perfect adhesion.

Can I go Through a Car Wash With a PPF Wrap on It?

You can go through a car wash but you have a greater chance of damaging the film as opposed to when hand washing the vehicle. When using an automated car wash or hand washing your vehicle, avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and stiff brushes that could potentially damage the PPF or affect its appearance. Opt-in for mild detergents and soft cloths or mitts designed for automotive use.
